Vision

Reveriant is a first person tactical shooter at its core. The tactical shooter element being the first of focus, but this is just the beginning of what the game has to offer. There are definitive plans to expand the title to include standard game modes, battle royale, social and competitive features, along with a brand new matchmaking genre yet to be revealed that is sure to transform the video game industry.

Why Make Reveriant?

The video game industry, especially within the shooter genre, has stagnated in recent years due to a lack of storytelling and an unwillingness to deviate from outdated formulas. The beloved IPs we grew up with have become stale and uninspiring, leaving gamers disinterested. The need for change and community input is clear. Reveriant aims to fill this gap by delivering fresh and exciting experiences that other developers and game properties lack. Our goal is to provide gamers with the features and experiences they want and deserve. Personal experience and a deep understanding of what the gaming community needs is what has fueled the drive and inspiration to create Reveriant.

How It Started...

After years of playing tactical shooters like Valorant, I noticed many areas lacking in quality of experience, especially in ranked competitive modes. Issues like unfair rank rating distribution, weak teammates, teammates that quit causing the rest of the team to suffer, a lack of alternative modes to measure individual skill, and excessively long matches that end up wasting players' time if they lose often due to factors beyond their control. It’s time for all of these pitfalls to be addressed which is where Reveriant comes in. We recognize these issues and the negative impact on the community and want to fix them. Hence our desire to create a game that eliminates such problems particularly in the competitive space.

Revisiting classic titles like Halo and Gears of War, I realized their lasting impact on the industry and myself on a personal level. Halo offered regular slayer (team deathmatch), tactical modes (SWAT), and a variety of other game types. This left me wondering why we couldn't have the same game mode options in new games like Valorant. Gears of War introduced unique third-person perspective gameplay and an innovative balanced map design bringing a whole new meaning to points of interest, such attention to detail and general design is just the start of what we strive to incorporate into our project. These titles also provided some of the most memorable story experiences in the shooter genre, a legacy we intend to honor.

In addition to these classics, battle royale games like PUBG and Apex Legends came along and made their mark. PUBG's audio design and influence on strategic gameplay as well as realistic open landscapes, combined with Apex Legends' fluid mechanics, have set high standards in the battle royale space. Fortnite, beloved by younger audiences, continually innovates with new weapons and seasonal events, keeping the game interesting and relevant. By building upon the aforementioned strengths of our favorite titles we are able to create our own game with a solid foundation free to test new ideas and build out further to reach new heights and explore new territory. It's our hope we can look at the past not to repeat it but take the best of it to shape and build towards the future.
